Blueberries benefits for the skin

What else can you do to keep yourself looking younger?
How about add blueberries into your diet.

Blueberries are one of the most nutritious and powerful superfoods. They have higher levels of antioxidants than red wine and green tea combined. Blueberries are low in calories, packed with nutrients and antioxidants.
These tiny fruits are anti-aging superstars.
They are so delicious, fresh, whether eaten on their own, mixed in fruit salads or cereals.

The reason why they are healthy is because blueberries are filled with vitamin C, vitamin E (the famously hardworking antioxidant), manganese,  vitamin K, fiber and riboflavin.
The color of blueberries, from deep blue to purple, is caused by a group of flavonoids called anthocyanins, which have remarkable antioxidant power.
Berries can also cure serious problems like Alzheimer’s disease to a great extent.

Blueberries benefits :

1.) Slow the aging process by reducing free radical damage
2.) Blueberries boost memory and are beneficial for your brain
3.) Reduce belly fat
4.) They protect your eyes and can improve your vision
5.) Fight cancer
6.) Lower blood pressure
7.) Protect the heart and liver
8.) Fight urinary tract infections
9.) Both diarrhea and constipation can be relieved with blueberries
10)They keep you fresh, active, fit, sharp, in a good mood, as they are very good anti depressants

When skin cells are protected from damage, the skin look younger for longer.
Choose blueberries that are firm and have a lovely blue color. Shake the container, noticing whether the berries have the tendency to move freely. If they not, this may indicate that they are soft and damaged or moldy.
Avoid blueberries that appear dull in color or are soft and watery in texture.

  9. Thanks Letne Dni, this is very good but I'm a bit curious if this blueberry is much better than a green tea or a tulsi tea for it's antioxidant effect? I've read at mercola's tulsi article that this holy basil is called the queen of herbs because of it's high antioxidant properties? Do you think I should believe this one?

    1. Hi Hanna, eating blueberries can really improve your skin and make you look younger. They have amazing antioxidant benefits, but to see the result, you should eat them every day in first week and than 3 times per week.

Green tea is also great, I wrote already one post about green tea, please have a look at it. To see the benefits of green tea you should drink 3-4 cups a day.

I haven't tried tulsi tea and don't know much about it. But drinking green tea and eating blueberries can do wonders for your skin and health.

  10. If you are looking for any skin care products that use blueberries and all their antioxidant power, you should definitely check out the Airelle skin care line. I can’t stop talking about it or recommending it to people. It is an all natural skin care line made up of not only blueberries but other natural ingredients (i.e. grapefruit, organic peppermint, seaweed). No joke, this natural stuff works! I have tried all sorts of cleansers, creams, and serums in the past. It is only after using Airelle products that I have really seen a difference in my skin. In the past 2 months, I have had no breakouts and my skin feels much firmer, smoother, and tighter. My favorite Airelle products are the Age Defying Facial Serum with Hyaluronic Acid and their new Exfoliating Facial Cleanser wit Glycolic and Bamboo.
