Stay warm this Christmas

Winter is here and so is Christmas time!
But with all this, come cold weather and that's why it's important to keep yourself warm from head to toe. So how can you keep yourself warm and comfortable this winter?

1.) Keep moving. Working out in the cold may be the last thing you feel like to do, but doing exercise
in the cold has the opposite effect. It will give you a rush of endorphins which will boosts your
mood. Exercise increase the blood flow to the body that heat up your skin and you feel warmer.

2.) Take hot bath, it will warm you up in no time. It is a nice way to relax your muscles, especially
after a stressful day. Try to add some bath salts, herbs, candles or soothing music. Don't forget to
moisturize your skin daily to avoid dryness.

3.) Give yourself a blanket treatment. Keep yourself warm and comfortable on your bed or on the
couch, while watching your favorite movie. Fleece blankets and throws are incredibly warm,
lightweight and less bulky than most other fabrics. Fold the bottom edge of the blanket up over
your feet, and then wrap one side of the blanket over your body, tucking it under you as needed.

4.) Keep your toes warm with socks. Wearing fleece slippers around the house can help keep your
feet warm. I highly recommend these socks from Next , they're comfortable, warm and good
     quality.

5.)  When it’s cold, it’s very important to dress warmly, protect your head, hands and feet. Wearing a
hat will stop the heat loss from your head and keep the rest of your body warmer.

6.) Keep yourself warm, with woolen clothes, sweaters and jackets. Wearing several thin layers of
clothes will help you stay warm in cold weather. Wear a windproof and waterproof jackets and
thick waterproof shoes or boots. The good news is there are so many winter warmers to choose
     from.

Christmas Time - Overcome Tiredness

Life can be sometimes an emotional roller coaster.
Some days we feel like nothing can stop us, other days we feel utterly hopeless.
Overcoming tiredness is very important for being able to go through the day and finish the things we need to do.
Sometimes your diet can cause you to be tired.
The first step to prevent tiredness is eating a well balanced diet. Anaemia is also a diet-related cause of tiredness and is caused by a lack of iron in the diet. Make sure you eat food rich in iron, such as:
Liver, red meat (beef, lamb, pork), chicken, egg yolk, fish, dried fruits and wholewheat grain products.

B12 deficiancy is also a cause of tiredness.
Foods rich in B12 are: Liver, fish, turkey, chicken, eggs, cheese, clams, oysters and mussels.

Drink plenty of water, because dehydration causes tiredness. Cold water hydrates fastest.
It is good to sip water after phone calls as the mouth gets drier with talking.

Do you like coffee? Caffeine acts as a stimulant and helps to regain focus and stay productive.
Have in the morning cup of tea or coffee. If you are sensitive to caffeine, don't over do it.

Try to eat every 3-4 hours. Eating more frequently prevents one from overeating at one time, thus zapping energy. It also helps sustain a steady level of energy throughout the day.

Eating the right amount of protein helps to balance blood sugar, which in turn avoids energy fluctuations. Optimal sources of protein are those that are lower in saturated fat, such as low-fat dairy products (yogurt, cottage cheese, low-fat cheese), chicken, fish, turkey, soy and egg whites.

Have a banana. Banana is full of natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose - combined with fibre, banana gives an instant boost of energy.  Bananas are also high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Use aromatic oils. Aromatherapy can quickly boost your energy levels. One drop of peppermint oil and two of lime sends your energy soaring. Essential oils pressed from citrus fruit like sweet orange, bitter orange (bergamot) and lemon are also uplifting and brightening, yet have a relaxing quality as well. Adding this to a tissue and inhaling it, refreshes you and back in action.

Stress less. I know, it's easier said than done. Take up yoga or try deep breathing exercises.
Regular exercise will also help you bring back the energy you’ve lost. Staying active will help you regulate your blood circulation and let you go through another day full of energy.
Exercise can also decrease the fatigue and stress you have.
Try cycling, it reduces anxiety, depression and stress.

Taking short breaks from work or studies and going into the open air can be helpful. Take deep breaths to rejuvenate the body and mind. One way how to regain energy is to stretch the legs, hands and arms to give an energy boost.

Have an early morning shower. A bath always makes you feel refreshed.
And of course, remember to smile. A smile can brighten your mood and make your day a happy one.
Before going to bed, take honey with warm milk and you will sleep better.

Take care of yourself, think positive and be happy.
